Editorial team & process
Alistora publishes buying guides, regional analyses and legal explainers about new-build property in Spain. Because our readers make decisions involving large sums and foreign property law, we transparently explain below how our content is created.

Who we are
The Alistora Editorial Team is a team of real estate editors tracking the Spanish new-build market full-time. We collaborate with local lawyers (abogados), tax advisors (asesores fiscales) and estate agents on the Costa Blanca, Costa Cálida and Costa del Sol. Articles are collective editorial work; individual bylines are omitted because our content is cross-checked and reviewed by multiple team members.
Our sources
For legal, tax and process information we use only primary, official sources:
- Agencia Tributaria (sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es) — VAT (IVA), transfer tax (ITP), stamp duty (AJD) and filings
- Boletín Oficial del Estado (boe.es) — current legislation
- Colegio de Registradores (registradores.org) — property registration
- Policía Nacional (policia.es) — NIE and residency procedures
- Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores (exteriores.gob.es) — visas and residency
- Local town hall (ayuntamiento) data for IBI, plusvalía and zoning
How we fact-check
Every article with legal, tax or procedural information is cross-checked against the primary sources above before publication. We explicitly link to those sources so readers can verify everything themselves. In case of doubt we consult a local abogado or asesor fiscal.
Review cycle
Spanish tax rules and property law change regularly (for example the abolition of the Golden Visa in April 2025). We therefore review all YMYL (Your Money Your Life) content at least once per year, and immediately after any legislative change. The last-reviewed date is shown on every blog post.
Disclaimer
Alistora is a property portal, not a law firm or tax advisor. Our content is educational and does not replace individual legal or tax advice. Always consult a qualified local professional before making major decisions.
