What is the Golden Visa?
The Golden Visa (investor visa) is a residency permit for non-EU citizens who invest at least €500,000 in Spanish property. The programme has existed since 2013 and is one of the most popular in Europe.

Conditions
- Minimum investment: €500,000 in property (mortgage-free for this amount)
- No criminal record in Spain or country of origin
- Health insurance from a Spanish-recognised insurer
- Sufficient financial means to live in Spain
- Not illegally residing in Spain

- Residency permit: initially 2 years, renewable for 5 years
- Family reunification: partner and minor children included
- No residency requirement: you don't have to live in Spain
- Work permitted: you may work in Spain
- Path to citizenship: permanent residency after 5 years, citizenship after 10 years
